"Lovie was never the same, and neither was Aliyah."
To her relief, Aliyah’s dreams found her and Lovie skipping rope in the park. They were having so much fun, laughing and playing. But then, suddenly, Lovie was gone! “How could you leave me like that,” Aliyah cried aloud. “Lovie, where are you?! Please come back, quickly!”
Aliyah looked up from her cry and her countenance became flush with fear. Lovie had not answered, but the Lion was back, and this time was running full speed in her direction. She ran up on the jungle gym as fast as she could, hid inside the tunnel and prayed to wake up quickly.
And wake up she did, breathing heavily, frantically feeling around the bed looking for Lovie. And there he was, he had fallen off the bed and was lying peacefully on the floor. Maybe she had dropped him in the night and that’s why Lovie hadn’t come when she called? Aliyah wasn’t sure, but she knew she didn’t like the fear she kept feeling.

Hope breathes through those who choose to be awakened...
"The skies, though smooth to the seer who dreams of them, have been like treacherously stormy waters as I've sought to live them out on land among men. The picture or impression of those skies cannot be understood without feeling them underneath your very own wings. I look up at the clear blue and become jealous, jealous for the life that is still very much alive within me, though kept by man's limited definition of freedom..."
"I became comfortable you see, and abandoned my pioneering edge. I once danced upon the skies with the greatest of freedom, led by unparalleled vision, yet even the quality of such esteemed traits weren't enough to keep me from blending in captive to the culture of wolves. Their lure was subtle, and their prowess for deception had kept me blind."
"I tossed from side to side, uncomfortable and wavering as to whether or not to get up. My eyes were foggy as I rolled out of bed in an unusually unpleasant way. Voices all around me were yelling, their sounds slicing through a disturbing clamor in the background. My eyes hadn't quite focused yet, my skin was clammy, and I could not stop shivering. I stumbled from bed and heard the loud clanging of metal against the ground. I fell down immediately and abruptly hit a hard, cold cement floor...The atmosphere was piercing, like a cold, empty shriek that coursed through my being...Nothing was as it appeared to be..."
"We take great pride in the fact that we have many more people coming into our prison than we have leaving it each day. This is very important to us, and we wish to keep it this way. The problems begin when prisoners release themselves. When that happens, others are more likely to follow...We cannot keep anyone here. All we can do is make it easier for the prisoners to keep themselves captive..."
